Ice House 2011

Ice House 2011

Hi All

Well I’ve just spent the last three days at the Ice House Conference in Plymouth, the three days were a great opportunity to see friends and colleagues like; Andy, Kate, Annette, and Frances and also meet some awesome educators from the south of England.

The conference was focused on exploring the challenges and opportunities for teaching and learning in the 21st Century and it definitely delivered on this promise with some brilliant speakers discussing current issues in education including me… I would like to thank Steve Harris of Cornwall College (who organised ICE) for inviting me.

In my session I discussed the challenges of using simulations and computer games in education; the session seemed to go well and everyone enjoyed the opportunity not only to learn about my approach to embedding games and simulations but also the chance to get some hands on time with SimVenture.

You can view my presentation here:

If anyone who attended my session catches this blog, drop me a line and let me know what you thought.

Peace

Matt
