Enterprise Education: CPD Video Project
Hi Guys
This month has been great for releasing projects that I’ve been working on, from the e-learning I’ve been creating (Enterprise You) to the conference I’ve been organising (Inspiring Enterprise) its been awesome showing people what I’m up to… and luckily I get a massive (if scary) buzz from throwing this stuff out there and seeing what people think!
So in the spirit of this…and because I thought it would be useful to crowd source some more opinions here comes my last Top Secret Project (Yes I Keep Secrets Badly)… Thanks to our group of enterprising academics here at the university we have come up with an idea to create a series of videos to explaining Enterprise Education and how staff from a range of disciplines can get started applying it in their curricula to replace our CPD programme.
These videos need to be no more than 10 minutes long and cover a broad range of topics; from the types of skills, attitudes and behaviours enterprise eduction seeks to encourage; to approaches to teaching, learning and assessment.
They also need to be accessible to people from a variety of backgrounds, suitable for watching in breaks etc. and dues to budgets they are going to be fronted my yours truly…so a really simple brief there!
I’ve had some ideas for topics / titles based on questions I always get asked, these include:
- What is Enterprise Education? Introduction and overview for the series with some history, context, explanations and justifications.
- What are Enterprise Skills? Pretty self evident there…I hope
- Developing an Enterprising Approach What are the key elements of an enterprising approach to teaching and learning
- How to create an Enterprise Space… Examining Active learning and student ownership as a developmental element of curricula
- Creative Approaches to Assessment …what it says on the tin…ish
- Enterprising Approaches to Large class Teaching Just an idea, would this be useful?
- What Happens when it Goes Wrong? So how to recover an enterprise lesson on the slide
As it’s my plan to make these videos freely available on-line as a resource anyone can tap into I was hoping that colleagues, friends and students might drop by and tell me what they think of the idea and what topics / material they would like to see covered…as I’m pretty sure that this isn’t a great list so far…so any thoughts, ideas and suggestions gratefully received and credited!
Thanks
Matt
