Resolutions 2101

Hi Everyone

Today as the last day of 2009 begins I am moved to think about my resolutions for 2010, now I’m not superstitious or traditionalist but I do believe in setting goals; they give you something to work towards and measure yourself by so these are going to be my goals for year to come… and in good old lecture fashion where possible I will make the SMART so I really I have something to work to:

Stay connected to my friends and family – I know that I am prone to over working and forgetting those around me (esp. my best friends) so this year I am going to make extra effort to keep in touch with those that matter to me at least every month.

Become a finisher – I have two terrible (in my opinion) habits, I am a serial project starter and an over worker, so this year I am going to take on less projects and work on completing those that I have started to put in place…this is going to leave me saying no more than usual this year – amazingly this means that as of now I am as of now closing the book on new major projects for 2010 whose seeds I have not already sown. This also means that I will be putting certain hobbies of mine on an indefinite hiatus to concentrate on work and new projects.

Have an adventure – in the next twelve months I want to go on, or solidly plan an adventure: I hope the rickshaw challenge will bring me this but if that falls through any kind of adventure that involves travel and excitement will have to be found, I also want to do this for charity and use to help a community I feel passionately about.

Help build a nationally recognised department at Glyndwr – I want to give my all to Glyndwr over the next twelve months and work alongside my colleagues to develop a nationally recognised department, doing amazing things to further enterprise education in north Wales.

Improve my fitness – this year more than ever I am targeting myself to get out once a week rain or shine and walk / hike around Wrexham and north Wales to build my fitness and endurance so that I look and feel better than ever.

Some of you reading this may think that for me these are pretty simple goals, bereft of my usual lofty ideals  – but these are things I really want to do, real things that will make a massive difference to my life and the lives of those around me…these are my small steps on a long road of change.

To all my readers, friends and family I hope you have an awesome year and do some amazing things, may 2010 be your year!

Peace

Matt
