To The Boys!
What I enjoy most about this time of year isn’t the food, the presents or the parties (although they are fun); it’s my friends and family – I am amazingly lucky to have an ultra supportive family and a group of friends around me the core of whom, have for 15 years have shown my support, encouragement and love.
As the New Year fast approaches I find myself reflecting on our group and how great is it to have friends like this, people who know you so completely you can be totally yourself and can cut down any ego or pretention with a story (in my case revolving around my total lack of common sense) in seconds.
After 15 years we are beyond friends, we are family… intertwined in each other’s lives and no matter how little we talk during the year when we come back together it’s like we have never been apart!
This is not to say that my other friends are not special or dear to me, but that I do not believe I will ever be this close to any group of people ever again.
I know that I am not always the best friend; I can be distant, forgetful and stupid but no matter my failings I can always rely on these people to get me by, so to: Josh, Gaz, Dave, Ben and Haggis Thanks, I love you guys and I promise in 2010 I will keep in touch with you all better and be the best friend I can
